Summary: Anxiety depression is a term used frequently when a person is anxious and depressed. Depression and anxiety certainly go hand in hand at times, but they do not have to go together.

Anxiety Depression

Anxiety depression is different than depression. Depression and anxiety can be suffered together or as separate conditions.

Anxiety is a normal response to danger. Anxiety is abnormal when its severity is out of proportion to the threat of danger or when it outlasts the threat. Anxiety depression is when the person is extremely fearful and also without their usual sense of well being.

Depression is the blues that can hit us all from time to time, as money, family, emotional or life's issues hang over like a dark cloud and we lose our usual sense of well being. Depression and anxiety is when our sense of well being is lost, we don't feel like accomplishing much and we are also fearful of things we have no reason to fear.

Depression is classified into mild, moderate and severe. In the long term, if the problems are not resolved, anxiety depression lowers the immune system, leaving you prone to worsening mental and physical health.

Natural remedies for anxiety are few, but for mild to moderate depression, the herb St. John's Wort has been found to be helpful. It should not be used for severe depression as it has not be found helpful.
