Cholesterol Medication
Cholesterol medication also known as "statin" cholesterol drugs are being taken by approximately 12 million people in the US with some experts claiming that cholesterol medicine should be taken by another 23 million.
Cholesterol medication has some of the most dangerous side effects of all medicines and the studies proving this are ignored by traditional doctors. The cholesterol medication most well known in the US include Lipitor, Zocor, Pravachol, Lescol, Mevacor and Crestor.
More ironic is the fact that cholesterol does not cause heart disease, it's far more linked to an inflammatory condition than blood cholesterol levels.

First Risk
Muscle weakness. Cholesterol medication is well known to reduce the levels of an enzyme in the body called Co Enzyme Q-10. This enzyme is used throughout the body for the production of energy. A person on cholesterol drugs may experience muscle pain, cramps, weakness and a condition called rhabdomyolysis (the pathological breakdown of skeletal muscle). (1) Cholesterol medicines have been withdrawn for this very reason. What's the most important muscle in your body?
Your heart. Yes, these supposedly necessary cholesterol medications will deplete the amount of Co Enzyme Q-10 from your body and especially your heart. Long term use will lead to eventual heart failure...if you live that long.
Second Risk
Your immune system and the possibility of cancer. Cholesterol lowering drugs like the statins interfere with the formation of a compound in the body called Interleukin 1 which is necessary for the formation of another compound called Interleukin 2. Why do we care about that? Interleukin 2 is the only all natural cancer treatment recognized by the FDA. It is made in the body for the purpose of keeping your immune system functioning at a high level...but not if you take cholesterol medicine like statins.
In a recent meta-analysis of 23 statin treatment studies with 309,506 person-years of follow-up, there was an inverse relationship between achieved LDL-cholesterol levels and rates of newly diagnosed cancer that the authors claim requires further investigation. (2) That's really bad information for those on these cholesterol drugs.
