Failed Treatments

Burglary Attempt at My Home

Interesting wake up call for me on Monday, January 23rd, 2012. This failed burglary attempt...I have placed..."tongue-in-cheek" in my Failed Treatments category on my website. The wake up is that I need to use my alarm system EVERY time I leave my house. I was gone for an hour and came home to this. Second wake up is if you ever have someone knocking on your door that you don't recognize or understand why they are there...call the police and let them check it out.

Weight Loss Surgery May Cut Migraine Pain in Obese Patients

Weight loss surgery may cut migraine pain in obese patients is not a surprising new finding. It is confusing for traditional doctors. Previous studies found bariatric weight loss surgery cured diabetes and normalized blood sugar. Now it reduces headaches. But why?

It's not the weight loss that is responsible!

Traditional medicine has never understood why this bariatric weight loss surgery changes patients. Think of it this way...if you are obese, have high blood sugar or diabetes...a majority of the foods you eat are carbohydrates...meaning they contain sugar (glucose). After bariatric weight loss surgery, the patient doesn't eat as much...can't eat as much...so weight loss ensues and blood sugar levels normalize because the patient plainly eats less carbs.

For a more detailed explanation of bariatric weight loss surgery, please see my previous article: http://www.drdahlman.com/gastric-bypass-cures-diabetes.shtml

Same concept with headaches. Many headaches are related to foods and the authors even admit that (see words highlighted in red below). So, once again, if the patient is forced to eat less...less of the foods they may be allergic to that are causing the headaches...the headaches may go away or lessen. Simple.

Read the following article about the new study just released (March 29, 2011) keeping in mind the simplistic confusion that surrounds the critical thought process of these researchers/physicians.

Priestess Process - Be Careful, Protect Yourself!

Are you looking for your inner Priestess? Better be careful if you are. The Priestess Process is New Age group psychotherapy usually "facilitated" by a psychotherapist or a person simply trained in this trademarked protocol. In the Priestess Process, through workshops and exercises (not physical exercises) a person's subconscious is deftly opened for the implantation of words, phrases, thoughts and ideas usually centered around improving self esteem and self worth. The techniques used are classic mind control/brainwashing exercises. Used by women on a journey trying to find their value, the Priestess Process may improve self worth and esteem...through false affirmations and repetition of platitudes...but, unfortunately for the participant it also creates a subconscious mind that unknowingly affects conscious normal relationships with other people who have not had the need to undergo a similar experience.

Flouride

Flouride treatments have always been controversial, but in a recently published article on January 8, 2011, the Associated Press is reporting that federal health officials are rethinking that position. It is the opinion of many that they will not rethink it through enough to remove it from our water supply. Flouride is a poison, but supposedly not in the small quantities used in our water supply. Some are not so sure. Found also in mouthwash, toothpaste, bottled water, soda and even flouride supplements for some children, are you or your children getting too much?

Specific Carbohydrate Diet

The Specific Carbohydrate Diet is based on the concept that many bowel conditions are due to imbalances in the microbial environment of the gastrointestinal system. The Specific Carbohydrate Diet also believes that foods included in the diet have very specific chemistry that help restore the necessary balance. The Specific Carbohydrate Diet, in my opinion, is too restrictive and not comprehensive enough and I must warn that it doesn’t work for everyone.

Master Cleanse Diet

The Master Cleanse is a new fad from Hollywood. The master cleanse diet, as it's called, consists of the master cleanse recipe of lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper, to be taken as your sole source of food. Does the Master Cleanse diet assist in detoxification and weight loss as say the Stanley Burroughs master cleanse proponents?

Panache Desai - Fraud, Scam, Cult or Guru?

Is Panache Desai a fraud, a scam, leader of a cult or a guru? There is a significant amount of information about him on his own website and also throughout the internet that can help you make that judgment. Viewing his website, I suspect that even his own words would not make sense to everyone.  If you Google "Panache Desai fraud", "Panache Desai scam" or "Panache Desai cult" you would find questionable and concerning information about him and if you look at some of those with whom he associates, one may wonder who he really is and what his motivations are. He believes he is a gifted "guru", but don't all of those associated with the New Age movement think they are gifted? Make up your own mind, but I found the following information about him readily available on the internet.
