Gluten Allergy Symptoms
Gluten allergy symptoms may reek havoc on the gastrointestinal system. Gluten allergy symptoms can be headaches, pain and inflammation,
skin rashes such as psoriasis and
eczema, hives, irregular heartbeat, anaphylactic shock, asthma and fatigue.
Gluten allergy symptoms should not be confused with Celiac Disease
as Celiac Disease is not a standard wheat/gluten allergy though patients with
it have an allergic response to gluten, which is a substance contained
in wheat, oats, barley and rye where the gluten wears down the villi
that lines the small intestine. Patients with a gluten allergy do not
experience the wearing away of the villi.
Eliminate Gluten Allergy Symptoms
If you experience gluten allergy
symptoms or allergic reactions, the first course of action is to
eliminate your contact with wheat and all the other gluten containing
foods (wheat, oats, barley and rye) that are causing your
symptoms. Stop eating these foods 100% and see if your symptoms go away.
If you would like confirmation of your gluten allergy or what other
foods you may also be allergic to, a food allergy test is recommended.
But, which food allergy test is best?
