Paxil for IBS

Paxil for IBS is an accepted therapy from conventional medical doctors because most IBS patients are found to have decreased serotonin levels in their bloodstream. Serotonin is partly manufactured in the gut and it is the chemical that helps people with their sense of well being. Treatment with paxil for IBS only masks the symptoms and does not address the cause.

The question exists when using paxil for IBS as to whether the decreased serotonin levels came first or did a greater lack of health and balance in the gastrointestinal system cause the IBS.

When it comes to IBS Zantac is also used somewhat ineffectively as is nexium for irritable bowel syndrome.
