Tim Russert: Could We Have Seen This Coming?
|
|
|
| Summary: Tim Russert was a loved and respected media person that probably everyone had heard of. Sensitive subject I'm touching on here today, but even in tragedy, we might be able to learn something from Tim Russert's death. So, I pose the question of whether or not we might have been able to have seen his untimely death coming? |

Tim Russert: Could We Have Seen This Coming?
And I believe that we might have been able to predict it with some
accuracy…not that it would be so early in life, but that heart disease,
heart attack, stroke, some other cardiovascular event or a blood clot
(deep vein thrombosis) would be the reason for a person’s death.
Now, hang in here with me because I must make comments about his
appearance to illustrate my points and they are completely backed up
with more studies than you could read in a lifetime. Can we suffice it
to say that Tim Russert is a much bigger man than he was as a younger
man? But who isn’t, you say. Well, many are still the same size as they
were in their teens or twenties. Could we say he has gained a few
pounds? “Swollen” a bit? Puffy? Could look a bit healthier? What’s the
difference between those who have gained weight and those who have not.
And it’s not necessarily just eating too much.
Think William Shatner, Captain Kirk from StarTrek who now appears on
Boston Legal. Compare him now to the size and look he had during the
successful TV series. Different guy, right. I picked him as an example
purposely because he’s going to be 77 this year and he ain’t dead yet.
So, my following discussion still applies to him….he will probably die
from the causes I mentioned earlier, but the point is why chance your
untimely demise by rolling dice that can be totally controlled?
The swollen and inflamed look of many men and women as they age is due
to one and only one thing in their lives and can be completely avoided.
This is a hugely complex issue and I will not have the space to
completely explain the topic, but I’ll do my best. If a man swells and
looks inflamed or a woman gains weight mostly above the waist (apple
shape as opposed to a pear shape)…it’s from too many carbohydrates.
Carbs break down into sugar and sugar causes weight gain and
inflammation. Simple as that. It’s called central obesity and is a
medical clinical sign of Metabolic Syndrome. This is a recognized
condition by traditional medical doctors. Problem is, they don’t look
for it nor treat it routinely. Google it.
Metabolic Syndrome consists of any or all of the following four
conditions: hyperinsulinemia (too much insulin in the blood), high
blood pressure, imbalanced cholesterol levels and central obesity. Did
Tim Russert have any of these conditions? We’ll never know, but he has
the outward sign of central obesity (upper body weight gain/swelling)
and guess what? Any or all of the other conditions associated with
Metabolic Syndrome can occur before the weight gain.
The end consequence of high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels or
weight gain above the waist is heart disease, heart attack, stroke, a
blood clot (deep vein thrombosis), any cardiovascular event and/or
diabetes. Not a pretty picture.
So, we have a choice. Diet is central to the issue and it’s not about
eating in moderation. Be a strict vegetarian or eat a low carb diet.
They are the two diets that prevent the inflammation I am discussing.
And only eat a vegetarian as long as you don’t find out you are
suffering from high blood pressure, high cholesterol or begin gaining
weight above the waist. If any of these conditions occur, your body is
telling you that the diet isn’t working for you.
Tim Russert lived life expecting to age and to gain weight. It’s just
part of the aging process, right? Wrong. Diet is responsible for his
appearance and death. Why chance it that you will live as long as
William Shatner when it’s entirely preventable and whether or not you
live that long, why chance the other conditions associated with the
inflammatory process that can greatly affect your quality of life?.
As a side note…all the research now occurring in alternative medicine
is centering on the inflammatory process and it’s effect on the human
body and it’s role in a vast number of inflammatory conditions.
Cardiovascular disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s and any
form of colitis), osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, Rheumatoid Arthritis,
Sjogren’s Syndrome, Lupus and many more…all about the inflammatory
process. And diet is front and central to the prevention.
