Zyrtec Side Effects
Zyrtec side effects can be serious and seek emergency medical attention if you experience a rare but
serious allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue, face or hives.
Other,
less serious Zyrtec side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take
Zyrtec and talk to your doctor if you experience: drowsiness,
dizziness, headache, or dry mouth.
Zyrtec is an
antihistamine which blocks the actions of the naturally occurring
chemical histamine in the body. Zyrtec is prescribed to treat the
sneezing, itchy, runny nose; and itchy, red, watery eyes caused by
seasonal allergies such as hay fever. Zyrtec also relieves the symptoms
of year-round allergies due to dust, mold, and animal dander. Zyrtec is
also used in the treatment of chronic itchy skin and hives.
Zyrtec side
effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your
doctor about any Zyrtec side effect that seems unusual or that is especially
bothersome.
Remember that all medications/drugs can cause gastrointestinal symptoms and can be toxic to your liver.
